• WATER CLASSIFICATION
  Areas where fishing rights are state controlled : state run water ways and lakes (navigable or not, canalized or not). Areas where fishing rights belong to private individuals : waterways and stretches of water. Private individuals may control access to fishing sites but they own neither the fish nor the water. Fishing areas in fresh waters are classified into two classes according to the kinds of fish to be found in them. First class refers to waters with trout. Second class includes all other waterways and stretches of water. For general angling regulation in Loir-et-Cher department, please refer to the annual fishing regulation booklet, which will be given to you with your angling licence.
